Yujin Hur is a multidisciplinary artist from South Korea, currently based in Brooklyn, New York.

Working across time-based and interactive installation, sculpture, video, photography, and drawing, she primarily uses paper, water, and natural pigments. Her work begins with an interest in the quiet rhythms of life and the cyclical processes of nature, and unfolds through processes in which materials are allowed to change, react, and form over time.

Rather than controlling the final outcome, Hur follows processes shaped by natural forces and, at times, by the presence and actions of viewers. She is interested in the traces that emerge through these processes—marks of movement, resistance, and pause—as well as in things that have been pushed to the margins, overlooked, or left in a paused state.

Through slow processes and subtle changes, her work invites viewers to slow down, look more closely, and become aware of small movements and fragile conditions that often go unnoticed in everyday life. Her work reflects on coexistence between human and nonhuman beings, and explores the space between what continues and what has stopped, fragility and resilience.
